Mickey was Mitzi's son - although we had trouble believing it. Where
Mitzi was small and petite, Mickey was verrry large - weighing about 22 pounds
but not at all fat. We always suspected that in Mitzi's wild days she met
up with a Bobcat in the woods. Mitzi was a tabby and as you can see Mickey
was yellow.
Mickey came to be called the Computer Cat since he
felt it necessary to sit on Fred's lap whenever Fred was at a computer.
Try typing with a 22 pound blonde with sharp claws in your lap.
He was a sweetheart albeit large, and loved affection.
The weekend Fred's Dad died (June 1, 1985) , we noticed that Mickey was
walking into things.
After thinking about it, we realized he had been getting around on sound,
not sight for some time, but so well we hadn't noticed. Dr. Mendel at Valley
determined he was in advanced stages of diabetes and could do nothing to
help at that point. Mickey passed away just two days after Dad Howey.
A real bummer of a weekend.
