Kitty Cat was born in 1984 to a very tough start - discarded in a bag along the road. After being rescued and passed around a bit as a young kitten, she settled in with Nancy's Mom and then moved in with us after Mom passed away. Her days here were as second fiddle to Mitzi until 1994 and there were some behavioral problems, probably due to jealousy. Once she moved up in the feline pecking order she became steadily more affectionate as well as vocal, demanding attention when she wanted it. She had been labeled as a '20 year' candidate by Valley Animal Hospital and certainly seemed to merit the designation - the older she got, the more she played like a kitten. Kitty suffered a broken thigh just before Christmas 1999 - cause unknown - that had to be pinned together. Although the fracture mended very slowly - (it took 3 months, try keeping a cat confined in one room for that long!) she got around again with no visible evidence of the injury.

One of her favorite pastimes in the colder months was keeping an eye on the gas fireplace in the dining room.

In early fall of 2002 she started to have to have some problems eating and Valley found she had an agressive oral cancer. We lost Miss Kitty on September 7th, 2 years short of the hoped for 20, but in our hearts forever.
