Shed

shed.JPG The shed was originally built about 1984. It's 12x12 and is now used to house the garden tractor, mowers and other power equipment. My best memory of the shed has little to do with it's construction but with it's purchase. We bought the materials at Whipples in JC and after leaving, stopped for gas on Harry L drive. Pulling into the station, I noticed the truck wasn't handling real well.. it seemed a bit light in the front. Could the material for a 12x12 shed in the back of a short bed Chevy be causing the front end to be barely touching the road? oops. Drove home verrry carfully.

July 2001

After completing the new barn, the old shed looked a little (or a lot) decrepit. Soooo... it was trimmed out like the new barn, the roofing stripped and reshingled same as the barn, and then Nancy stained it so the two match.

Construction

The shed is a simple structure, 12x12 in size with walls on 24" centers, home built roof trusses, a 6' door and two windows. The floor is 3/4" T&G plywood and it sits on 4x4's. The windows are actually storm windows with screens that were picked up from Whipples bargain bin for about $10 each at the time and are simply screwed to the T111. Electricity was supplied by tapping into the pool line where it crosses the bridge (I may get into that some day) since the shed is only about 10 feet from the creek.

The dogs lying in front of the bridge gate (the gate that kept a certain dog from trying to bite UPS trucks) were an extra cost option.
